“Time Never Stops”, a special drama produced by TV Asahi as one of the projects celebrating its 55th anniversary, has been honored with two awards this fall: “MIPCOM Buyer’s Award for Japanese Drama” and the Grand Prix of Single Drama at the “International Drama Festival in Tokyo”.

The drama portrays the destruction and resurrection of a family that underwent the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 2011. The script written by Taichi Yamada, a representative scriptwriter in Japan, together with heart gripping performances of an all-star cast including Kiichi Nakai have made the drama into an absolute gem as family drama.

“MIPCOM Buyer’s Award” is selected by the buyers attending MIPCOM from all over the world under the criterion of “the content that I want to broadcast in my country the most”. Awards at the “International Drama Festival” are given to a quality Japanese drama that has a high potential for international distribution.

It is indeed a great pleasure and honor for us at TV Asahi to have our drama that challenged a very grave theme of “a recovery from unprecedented catastrophe” receive such high evaluation both in Japan and abroad. We will continue to offer high caliber and high quality contents to the world.
