Our dramas did very well in FY2012: the series “AIBOU: Tokyo Detective Duo -Season 11” reaffirmed its strength with steady high ratings throughout its 2 terms covering six months with a new partner detective introduced in the Season 11. The final episode marked the record-breaking highest rating of the entire series. And our new drama, “Doctor-X”, also became a mega-hit, ranking top in ratings for all dramas produced by commercial broadcasters in FY2012.
The driving power in the steady increase of our annual golden and prime-time ratings to reach the top was the strong line-up of our regular variety shows, “Otameshi-ka!,” “Quiz Presentation Variety: Lord Q” and “London Hearts” which kept their steady high ratings throughout the year, along with our flagship late-evening weekday news show "Hodo Station." Our special programs also contributed much to our rating results: exciting major sports coverage such as “FIFA World Cup Brazil Asian Qualifiers”, “ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series,” and “World Baseball Classic”; special one-off dramas commemorating the 55th anniversary of the launch of our station, “The Drama Specials Marking the 20th Anniversary of the Death of a Master Detective Fiction Writer Seicho Matsumoto: ‘Fatal Photo’ and ‘The Housekeeper’”; “AIBOU: Tokyo Detective Duo -Season 11 New Year Special”; and “Dream Challenge 2013: Who are the Champions by the Super Duo Tunnels!!“
