GQ Men of the Year 受賞記者会見
本質にこだわる男性に、世界20の国と地域でクオリティ・ライフスタイルを提案し続けている雑誌「GQ」
GQ MEN OF THE YEAR は、1994年にアメリカでスタート。現在は世界中で実施されており、男性を中心としながらも、ジャンルを問わず、その年に圧倒的な活躍を見せたヒーローたちを称賛し、表彰する祭典。
今年の受賞者は全11組
■新しい学校のリーダーズ（アーティスト）/ブレイクスルー・アーティスト賞
■安藤サクラ（女優）/ベスト・アクター賞
■桑田悟史（SETCHU）/ブレイクスルー・ファッションデザイナー賞
■ヒコロヒー（芸人）/ブレイクスルー・エンターテイナー賞
■久石譲（作曲家）/レジェンダリー・ミュージシャン賞
■BRIGHT（アーティスト/俳優）/ベスト・アジアン・エンターテイナー賞

日本から世界へ、そして世界から日本へ。
今年のGQ JAPANは、日本と世界を繋ぐ「輝ける才能」たちが選出。
授賞式には11組の中から9組が参加。
まずはそれぞれ車に乗って、１組ごとにレッドカーペットに登場。
写真撮影などを経て、司会のハリー杉山からの質問に答える形で報道陣の前に姿を見せた。
最初に登場したのは新しい学校のリーダーズ。SNSをきっかけに世界に大きく羽ばたいたアーティストである。メンバーのSUZUKAは、緊張しながらも「素敵な賞をいただくことができ、胸アツアツでございます」とコメント。
２組目は、野球選手の吉田正尚。レッドソックスと契約を結び主力選手として大活躍。「来年もいいパフォーマンスをお見せしたいと思っています」とコメントし、抱負を語った。
そして３組目はBRIGHT
バーバリーのアンバサダーに就任したり、ヨーロッパでのファッションウィークに参加したりと、アーティストとしてだけでなく、ファッション界からも注目され多忙な１年を過ごした。「日本は第２の故郷のような場所。（ファンの）みなさんに会える機会をもっと増やしたい」と、日本のファンへのメッセージを送った。
４組目はヒコロヒー。芸人としての活動の他、俳優としての演技、さらにコラムなどの連載も抱える多才でマルチな才能が評価され、今回の受賞となった。パンツスーツで颯爽と登場し、「受賞したとスタッフから聞いたときは、テレビ朝日の楽屋で大喜びしました。色々な活動が評価されて嬉しい」と語った。
５組目にはベスト・アーティスト賞を授賞したMrs.GREEN APPLEが登場。あらゆる世代から支持されるバンド。お揃いのスーツに銀のアレンジを加えて現れた3人。
キーボードの藤澤涼架は「結成10周年を迎えた今年、このような賞をいただけたことを光栄に思っている」と語った。
６組目はブレイクスルー・アクター賞として山田裕貴が登場。映画「東京リベンジャーズ２」や大河ドラマなど、出演作が続く人気若手俳優。多くの報道陣のカメラの前で
「まだ実感がない」と語り、緊張しつつも嬉しさをにじませた。
７組目には同じく俳優として安藤サクラが受賞。出演作が海外でも認められ、国際的にも注目される安藤は、鮮やかなブルーのドレスで登場。「来年は自分自身の違う一面を探す時間にしたいと思っています」と来年への抱負を語った。
さらに8組目には作曲家の久石譲。2025年には日本センチュリー交響楽団音楽監督に就任する予定。「こういう時代の最先端を走るような賞をいただいたことをうれしく思っています」と喜びを語った。
9組目は役所広司。「GQ MEN OF THE YEAR」の受賞は今回で二度目となるレジェンド。
「前回は授賞式に参加できなかったので、華やかな場所に呼んでいただいて感動しています」と語った。映画「PERFECT DAYS」で第76回カンヌ国際映画祭最優秀男優賞を受賞するなど、大活躍の年となった。

ベスト・アジアン・エンターテイナー賞を新設。最初の受賞者はBRIGHT
日本を拠点としながら海外で高い評価を集めた方々が揃った一方、アジアで活躍するアーティストへ送る「ベスト・アジアン・エンターテイナー」という賞も新たに設けられ、BRIGHTが選出された。来年以降、数々のアジアのエンターテイナーが彼に続き選ばれていくことが予想されるこの賞は、まさにBRIGHTをきっかけとし、世界に広がっていく賞ともいえる。今後への道を切り開いた歴史的瞬間でもあった。
BRIGHT本人もインタビューで「タイと世界の懸け橋になりたい」と語り、まさに相応しい賞となった。英語での受け答えにもきちんと対応し、大きな笑顔で会場に華を添えた。

GQ, a magazine that continues to propose quality lifestyles in 20 countries and regions around the world to men who are particular about the essence of what they do.
GQ Men of the Year started in the United States in 1994. Currently held around the world, it is a festival that celebrates and honors heroes who have shown overwhelming success in their respective years, regardless of genre, while focusing on men.

This year, GQ JAPAN selected "Shining Talents" who connect Japan and the world.
9 of the 11 groups participated in the awards ceremony.
First, each group appeared on the red carpet in a car.
After taking pictures and answering questions from host Harry Sugiyama, they appeared in front of the press.
The first group to appear was ATARASHII GAKKO! , a group of who have made their mark on the world through social networking. Member SUZUKA was nervous, but commented, "I am very excited to receive this wonderful award.
The second was a baseball player Masataka Yoshida. He has signed a contract with the Red Sox as a player and has been very active as a mainstay of the team. “ I hope to give you a good performance next year,too" he commented.
The third one is BRIGHT, who spent a busy year in the spotlight not only as artists but also in the fashion world as he became ambassadors for Burberry and participated in European fashion weeks. He sent a message to his Japanese fans, saying, "Japan is like a second home to me, and I want to have more opportunities to meet (my fans).
The fourth was HICCOROHEE who received the award for her versatility and multi-talents as an actor as well as a comedian. Dressed dashingly in a pants suit, she said, "I was overjoyed backstage at TV Asahi when I heard from the staff that I had won the award. I am happy that my various activities have been recognized".
The fifth group was Mrs. GREEN APPLE, who received the Best Artist Award. A band supported by all generations. The three appeared in matching suits with silver arrangements.
Keyboardist Ryoka Fujisawa said, "We are honored to receive this award this year, which marks our 10th anniversary.”
Yuki Yamada as the Breakthrough Actor Award winner. He is a popular young actor who continues to appear in movies such as "Tokyo Revengers 2 “

The seventh award went to another actor, Sakura Ando, who is attracting attention internationally for her work abroad, appeared in a bright blue dress. She expressed her aspirations for the coming year, saying, "I want to spend the next year looking for a different side of myself.”
Also in the eighth group was composer Joe Hisaishi, who will assume the position of music director of the Century Japan Symphony Orchestra in 2025. “ I am delighted to receive such a cutting-edge award," he said.
The ninth group was Koji Yakusho. This is the second time for the legend to receive the "GQ MEN OF THE YEAR" award.
“I was not able to attend the last award ceremony, so I am thrilled to be invited to this glamorous occasion," he said. It has been a year of great success for him, including winning the Best Actor Award at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival for film "Perfect Days.”
