INK来日特別インタビュー／Special Interview with INK WARUNTORN （日本語＆English）
タイの人気歌手・INK WARUNTORN「イン ワラントーン」来日公演が、2022年11月
15日（火）に渋谷WWWにて開催された。
歌手だけでなく、俳優とも多く交流がある彼女の歌声を聴くために、音楽ファンからタイドラマファンまで、多くの人々が訪れ、会場は超満員。シングル「Last Train」を一緒に発売した日本のバンドTHREE1989をゲストに迎え、タイの有名ロックバンド モダンドッグのボーカルPodさんもサプライズ出演するなど、豪華な一夜限りのスペシャルライブとなった。

Q： 来日公演を終えて、率直に今のお気持ちはいかがですか？
そうですね、とてもハッピーです。
実はステージに上がるまで、とても緊張していました。例えば英語や日本語でのMCも、言い間違えをするのではないかと、とても心配でしたが実際にステージに立って、２曲歌ったあたりからリラックスして、より楽しくなりました。
Q： 今回は２度目の来日「公演」とお聞きましたが？
最初の来日は2015年に「Snaｐ（邦題：スナップ）」という映画の出演者として東京国際映画祭に参加しました。アーティスト INK WARUNTORNとしての初来日は、2018年に東京の代々木公園で開催されたタイフェスティバルです。アーティストINK WARUNTORN としては2回目の来日となります。
Q： 日本のファンに会っていかがですか？
とてもうれしかったです。（アーティストINK WARUNTORNとしての初来日時）にファンの皆さんとは会っていましたが、３，４年前なので、まだ覚えてもらえているかな？と思っていたのですが、ファンの方の中には、当時一緒に撮影した写真をもってきて、「覚えてる？」と言ってくださった方などがいました。自分のことを覚えていてくれて、とてもハッピーな気持ちになりました。
Q：渋谷のタワーレコードで販売している日本仕様のCDには、カタカナで「イン ワラントーン」と名前が書いてありましたが、実物を見てどう感じましたか？
とても物珍しいです。自分の名前を日本語で書かれると思ったこともなかったし、
しかもアルバムの表紙になっているんですよね。ロゴもとても綺麗でうれしかったです。

そうですね。とても嬉しかったです。もともとタイのマスコミが付けた愛称なのですが、日本でもそのまま使われていることを嬉しく思います。
Q：J-POPでは宇多田ヒカルさんが好きだとお聞きしましたが、普段はどのような音楽を聴きますか？
実は色々な歌のジャンルを習っていて、大学生のころはクラシックオペラまで習いました。とにかくさまざまなジャンルを聞くようにしています。でもやはり一番好きなのはPOPです。その日の気分によって、毎日曲のムードを変えます。例えば今日は悲しい曲、別の日は楽しい曲など。色々な曲を聴くようにしています。
Q： K-POPも聴きますか？
聴きます。今好きなのはNewJeans（ニュージーンズ）です。大好きです。かっこいいし、とってもいいです。
Q： K-POPとT-POPの違いについては、どのように感じていますか？
やっぱりK-POPはＴ-POPにかなり影響を与えていると思います。
T-POPの特徴としては歌詞にすごくメッセージ性があること一回聴いたらもう覚えてしまうような聞きやすいメロディーであることです。一方、K-POPがT-POPに与えている影響としては、やはり音楽的な面、例えばビートが多様されたりといったことがあります。また、タイでもK-POPの影響を受けてガールズグループやボーイズグループが増えてきています。タイの音楽に色々なジャンルが増えていくということはとても良いことだと思っているので、私は常にT-POPもK-POPもいっぱい聴いています。
Q： 最後に、音楽以外のことも少し質問させてください。
日本ではタイドラマブームが来ており、沢山の俳優さんが人気です。
INKさんも同世代として、色々な俳優さんとの交流があるとお聞きしていますが、何か印象に残るエピソードがあれば教えてください
先輩としてはTay （Tawan Vihokratana）、あとはUp （Poompat Iam-samang）ですね。
Upは（チュラーロンコーン大学の）３年生の時に知り合い、実は後輩なんですが、
Drum Major（マーチングバンド）では同期なんです。一緒に練習を重ねてきました。
スポーツ並みに練習が厳しくて、例えば夕方の５時になったらグラウンドを５週走るとか、とても大変だったんです。夜、一緒にご飯を食べに行ったり、練習をしている時に励ましあったりしました。当時の仲間とは苦労を共にしたので、とても仲がよく、会った時には芸能界の話はほとんどせず、何がしてみたいとか、普通の話をします。UPと知り合った時は、まだ彼はドラマに出ていなかったのですが、私がコンサートに初めて出た時も、「INK先輩、INK先輩」と、とても大きな声で応援してくれました。兄弟のようにじゃれあったりする仲間です。私たちは学生時代に、まだ有名じゃない頃に知り合っています。お互いに成長していき、それぞれの得意分野で作品も増えています。昔から知っているので、私が日本版のＣＤが出したら、欲しいと言ってくれたり、一生懸命応援してくれています。
UpやTay 先輩の作品が増えるのはとてもうれしいです。
Ｑ： あと少しの滞在とお聞きしましたが、日本は満喫していますか？
とても楽しんでいますが、もっと楽しみたいです。今回の来日ではディズニーランドに行きます。次に来た時にはジブリパーク（愛知）にも行ってみたいです。
Q： これからの活動予定を教えてください
まずは最新アルバムの「bloom.（ブルーム）」です。渋谷のタワーレコードで販売しており、今は売り切れてしまっていますが、再入荷すると思いますので聴いてみてください。
また日本でライブをする時はなるべく早く皆さんに告知できるようにするので、是非来てください。また会いましょう。

Popular Thai singer, INK WARUNTORN, held a concert in Japan at Shibuya WWW on November 15, 2022.
The venue was packed with people from music fans to Thai drama fans who came to hear her singing voice, which is not only a singer but also interacts with many actors. The Japanese band Three1989, with whom she released the single "Last Train" together, were the guests, and Pod, vocalist of the famous Thai rock band Modandog, made a surprise appearance, making it a gorgeous one-night-only special live performance.
Q: How do you feel now after the concert in Japan?
I am very happy.
Actually, I was very nervous before going on stage. I was worried that I might say some things wrong in English or Japanese, but when I actually went on stage and sang two songs, I relaxed and started to enjoy the show more.
Q: We understand that this is your second "performance" in Japan?
My first visit to Japan was in 2015 to participate in the Tokyo International Film Festival as a performer in a film called "Snap. My first visit to Japan as artist INK WARUNTORN was in 2018 at the Thai Festival in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo. This will be my second visit to Japan as artist INK WARUNTORN.
Q: How was it meeting your Japanese fans?
I was very happy. （I had met my fans before (during my first visit to Japan as artist INK WARUNTORN), but it was 3 or 4 years ago, so I wondered if they still remembered me. I wondered if they still remembered me since it was 3 years ago, but some of the fans brought the photos we took together back then and asked me if I remembered them. I was surprised to find that some of my fans still remembered me, and were very happy to see me. It made me very happy to know that they remembered me.
Q: The Japanese version of the CD sold at Tower Records in Shibuya has the name "In Warantorn" written in katakana.
How did you feel when you saw it? I never thought my name would be written in Japanese.
And it is on the cover of the album. I was also very happy to see the beautiful logo.
Q: You are called the Queen of Synth Pop.
Yes, I do. I was very happy. It was originally a nickname given to me by the Thai press, but I am happy that it is still used in Japan.
Q: I heard that you like Hikaru Utada in J-POP, but what kind of music do you usually listen to?
Actually, I have learned various genres of songs, and even classical opera when I was a university student. I try to listen to a variety of genres. But my favorite is POP music. I change the mood of a song every day depending on my mood. For example, today I listen to a sad song, another day a happy song, and so on. I try to listen to a variety of songs.
Q: Do you also listen to K-pop?
Yes, I do. My current favorite is New Jeans. I love it. They are cool and very good.
Q： How do you feel about the difference between K-pop and T-pop?
I think K-pop has a lot of influence on T-pop.
T-pop is characterized by lyrics with a strong message and melodies that are easy to listen to and remember once you hear them. On the other hand, K-pop's influence on T-pop is also musical, such as the use of beats. Also in Thailand, the number of girl groups and boy groups is increasing due to the influence of K-POP. I think it is a good thing that there are more genres of music in Thailand, so I always listen to a lot of T-pop and K-pop.
Q: Finally, let me ask you a few questions about something other than music.
There is a Thai drama boom in Japan, and many actors are popular.
As a member of the same generation, I hear that you have interacted with many actors.
As for my seniors, Tay (Tawan Vihokratana) and Up (Poompat Iam-samang).
I met Up in my junior year (at Chulalongkorn University), and he is actually a junior.
We are actually juniors, but we are also classmates in Drum Major (marching band). We have practiced together for a long time.
Practice was as hard as sports, for example, we had to run around the field for five weeks at 5 p.m. It was very hard work. We went out to eat together at night and encouraged each other during practice. When I met UP, he was not yet in a TV drama, but when I appeared in a concert for the first time, he cheered me up very loudly, saying "INK senpai, INK senpai" (senior INK, senior INK). He cheered for me very loudly. We are friends who play with each other like brothers. We met when we were students and not yet famous. We have grown up with each other and our works have increased in our respective fields of expertise. I have known them for a long time, so when I released a Japanese version of my CD, they said they wanted it and have been supporting me all the way.
I am very happy to see more works by Up and Tay.
Q: I heard that you are only going to be in Japan for a short while.
I am enjoying myself very much, but I would like to enjoy myself even more. This time I will visit Disneyland. Next time I come to Japan, I would like to visit Ghibli Park in Aichi.
Q： What are your future plans?
First of all, my latest album "bloom. It is currently sold out at Tower Records in Shibuya, but I think it will be restocked, so please give it a listen.
