「Doctor-X」, a drama series aired on TV Asahi Network in the October-December term last year（2012） had achieved the highest audience rating of 24.4% (average audience rating was 19.1% for the total of 8 episodes). And the drama has proven its power in Taiwan as well. As the drama was broadcast on cable television last month in Taiwan, 「Doctor-X」 achieved the #1 in both average audience rating and the highest audience rating among 45 Japanese dramas aired in Taiwan last year.

Five days after the final episode was aired in Japan, the drama was launched in Taiwan as a daily weekday drama starting on December 18th until the 27th. It kicked off with a high rating and kept its high rating until the last episode that marked the highest rating among all the Japanese dramas aired in Taiwan last year.

「Doctor X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon」 had already marked the highest audience ratings among all the dramas aired last year by commercial TV stations in Japan. The drama is about an outstanding work ethics of a stunningly attractive female surgeon with surgical skill of a genius, who wanders from one hospital to another as a freelance temporary staff relying on her self-made skill alone. “You know, I never fail”, the clinching line of the heroin, Michiko Daimon, played by Ryoko Yonekura, together with her straightforward and reliable character grasped the audiences’ attention and the drama has become the talk of the town throughout Japan. The drama accomplished the highest audience rating last year in commercial TV drama of 24.4%.

Ms. Kaku KUO, Head of Japanese Channel at VIDEOLAND, the cable channel that aired 「Doctor-X」 in Taiwan, commented, “「Doctor-X」 is a great medical drama and it has drawn overwhelming sympathy of working women in Taiwan. The story evolves in an exquisite pace, so the viewers could not help but want to watch the next episode. It was a drama that made you feel good after you watch it.”
